Renee’s journey into the world of art was sparked by her fascination with mandalas—intricate, circular designs that radiate beauty and serenity. Each of her stones is a testament to her meticulous craftsmanship, featuring layers of bright acrylic paint and thousands of meticulously applied dots. Inspired by both traditional dot painting techniques and modern dotillism, her creations embody a mesmerizing 3D effect that draws the eye and calms the mind.
Creating these unique pieces is a labor of love. Some stones take up to nine hours to complete, with layers of paint that require careful drying in between applications. Using super fine brushes and specialized dotting tools, Renee pours her heart into every piece while balancing her role as a mom to a lively two-year-old.
Beyond selling her artwork, Renee is deeply committed to her community. She actively participates in Whidbey Island Rocks, a local initiative where residents hide and find painted rocks. Renee delights in leaving her stones in parks and playgrounds, spreading joy and connection throughout the community.
